30 words
every day it seems that Arlie is learning a new word. yesterday it was 'doctor' and last week he learned 'turkey' and 'blueberry'. it is truly amazing to hear his try to say everything that he hears. it's a wonderful joy to share with him. he gets so happy and excited when we are excited to hear him try to talk. he will only speak one word at a time, though we are trying to get him to say at least 2 words together. he can say 'bus' and 'school' but won't say 'school bus'. it's only a matter of time.

gummy
I gave Arlie his first sour patch kid this past weekend. He grabbed it and looked at it in wonder. His mischeivous smile showed as he slowly brought it up to his mouth. Out stuck his tongue and he licked it and winced. His tongue stuck out and he crinkled his nose. He looked at the red candy and then went back for more. Licking and crinkling and loving it. So cute. He licked all the sour off and then kept enjoying it until it became a mass of wet gooyness. His sticky hands got all over everything, but it was such fun to see his expressions and enjoyment.

piggyback
I taught Arlie how to ride piggyback this weekend. It was so fun. First I got down on my knees and patted my shoulders and told him to hang on. He came over to me slowly and patted my shoulders. I giggled. I told him to come closer and patted my shoulders again. When he went to pat, I grabbed his hands and up I went. He giggled and laughed. We ran around the house and bumped up and down. When I passed by the foyer mirror he was smiling as big as can be. After I put him down he wanted back up. We really enjoyed that.
